Volunteer(s) Needed For PBIS Program

If you are a parent of an incoming 6th grader, then we have something you might be interested in!

The PBIS (Positive Behavior, Interventions and Support) committee is looking for a parent(s) to join the committee! What's involved?

You will attend monthly meetings along with teachers, staff and administration to discuss support of the PBIS Program in which students earn "Middletown Shields" by following the Knight's CODE in the classroom, halls, cafeteria, and on the school bus. Shields are used in the school store, in drawings, and as tickets to participate in reward activities.

You will also be responsible for coordinating the three PBIS dances throughout the school year! This includes organizing all parent volunteers to chaperone the dance and staff the concession stand. Manage event planning, themes and decorating for the dances and ensure dances operate within budget. We already have a ton of decor used to decorate for the dances along with plans on how to set-up each dance.

The next dance, Spring Fling, will be held on April 7th and this would be an amazing opportunity to shadow with the current parent PBIS rep on how to organize and run the dances! There is also a PBIS meeting scheduled in March with the teachers, staff and admin and this would be another great opportunity to sit in on one of their meetings.
