Middletown Middle School - PTSA Nominations for 2017-2018

Please consider joining us to make the 2017-2018 school year another successful year here at MiMS. There are so many opportunities to help throughout the year and it all begins with our Board Member positions. Those positions with openings for next year are below. Our communication venues are the MiMS Find Out First (FOF) emails, the monthly MMS Newsletter and the “Middletown Middle School – MMS Maryland” Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/MiddletownMiddleMaryland/ Please be sure to like and share our page with other parents! It is a great way to stay in tune with what is happening at the school, upcoming events and available opportunities for students and parents to get involved!

President: Responsible for communication between PTSA and School Admin * Produces and coordinates PTSA calendar for school year * Assists Committee Chairs in facilitating programs * Communicates with County and MD state PTAs and disseminates information from these sources * Works with Treasurer to oversee the progression of the PTSA budget * Oversees monthly PTSA meetings as well as two budget meetings throughout the school year.
(Approx 1-2 hours per week, including monthly meeting)

Vice-President: * support the President’s objectives * help with the day-to-day operations of the PTSA * help formulate the group's long-range plan * work out issues as they arise * participate in executive board discussions and decision making * to take signing responsibility for financial transactions
(Approx 2-4 hours a month including monthly meeting)

Treasurer: * maintain checking account and Track Maintenance account * keep records of receipts and expenditures of PTA and reconcile bank statement each month * make disbursements as authorized by PTA President in accordance with approved budget * provide financial report at each PTA meeting *complete and submit all state and federal tax forms as required by law
(Approx. 4 hours per month, including monthly meeting)

Secretary: * Takes the minutes at monthly meetings * Works with President to create monthly meeting agenda * Distributes via email, monthly meeting minutes and agenda
